Young Vars.Girls 4th at Regionals against best teams in State. Gain valuable experience for future!!

The youthful Varsity Girls team (only 1 Sr. on the squad) put forth a great effort at the Regional event in Lubbock against some of the best teams in the State and finished 4th overall. They gained valuable experience playing with great programs like Allen, SL Carroll, Mansfield, & El Paso Eastwood, and found out what it will take to qualify for State in the future. Leading the way for the Cowgirl scoring were: Freshman Chaithra Katamneni (79-69 = 148--tied 7th--won playoff for 1st alternate to State), & Sophomore Taylor Icenberger (74-75 = 149--tied 9th) as they were named All-Regi ...more

Albert Lo participates in Regional tournament at Rawls Course in Lubbock on April 16-17.

Albert Lo recently participated in the Regional golf event held at the Rawls Course in Lubbock on Mon./Tues. April 16-17. His scores for 2 days (78-82 = 160, a +16 over par) really don't indicate how Albert played for the entire tournament. He had 3 triple bogeys & 1 double (+11), leaving him only (+5) over par for the other 32 holes. As you can see, those 4 bad holes were his demise. He was more than double the amount over par on those few holes than he was for the rest of the tournament. Vars.Girls have record setting performance to WIN DISTRICT (7-5A) CHAMPIONSHIP over SLCarroll

The Varsity Girls "RED" team shattered their existing school record (306--shot earlier in the year) on Day 1 of the District (7-5A) tournament. They shot 292 to lead SL Carroll by 9 strokes. Then on Day 2, the young Cowgirls (only one Sr.) had to grind very hard to WIN THE DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP by 5 strokes over the Lady Dragons. IT WAS AN AWESOME PERFORMANCE BY THE ENTIRE TEAM--led by the following 3 young ladies: Freshman Chaithra Katamneni (1st place medalist--72-73=145), Junior Tiffany Breitenwischer (3rd place--72-76=148), & Freshman Sol Lee (4th place--71-78=149). The Vars.Boys teams finished a disappointing 5th/8th in the final standings of District (7-5A) played at Fossil Creek GC. The "Red" team did not play well on Day 1 (322), then bounced back to shoot (306) for a total of 628, while the "White" team shot (331-328 = 659). Albert Lo, a junior, however, did play well enough (76-72 = 148) to place 4th (1st Team All-District), and qualify for the upcoming Regional event in Lubbock. Other top scorers for CHS were: (Soph.)
